Over the Edge

The first release checked by looking at it: every change here came from rendering the boards on screen, reading the screenshots, and fixing what they showed.

The falls actually fall

Silverrun's crossing gets its waterfall. Where water pours over a drop — the bare falls lip, or the causeway with the shelf pool against it — the ledge now hangs soft white falling-water sheets with foam at the foot, instead of the rock face every other cliff gets. The rule is the fed-by-a-pool test: stone above water only pours when a pool stands against it at its own height, which is what keeps Highspire's canal quays dry — a wall above water with nothing behind it stays a wall. Verified both ways by node count: the falls grew exactly its three sheets, Highspire grew nothing.

Elevated water actually renders elevated

Found by the first screenshot: the client has flattened ALL water to height zero since the first tile was drawn — harmless while every water tile in the game sat at zero, and a silent client/engine split the moment Silverrun's shelf pool existed. The engine played the pool at height 2 (movement, jump checks, unit placement) while the client drew it as a hole. The shelf now renders as the raised body of water the engine has been playing all along.

A public cemetery is not a haunted crypt

Restfield's first render came out grey: it wore the graveyard theme — the cursed night-crypt look, dirt over every terrain — which was authored for Gravewater and is wrong for a sunlit burial green. New daylight cemetery theme: grass stays grass, and the same headstones, markers and mausoleums stand in it. The two graveyards are different places now.

The previewer earns its screenshots

The map previewer gained a scripted screenshot mode (two angles per board — the far side is where authoring mistakes hide), lost the cold moonlight that made every theme read darker than in a real battle, and writes captures to a stable folder — the old path pointed into a directory that no longer existed, so every capture for weeks had been failing silently.
