Privacy Policy
Shattered Crowns is an online game built by one person, and this policy is written the same way the game is: plainly, and only about things that actually exist. The short version — we keep the minimum an online game needs to function, we sell nothing about you, and you can delete all of it.
What we collect
You can play without an account. Guest play stores nothing on our servers beyond the seconds-lived presence counter below.
If you create an account, we store:
- Your chosen display name and a randomly generated account id.
- Sign-in identity, if you link one. Linking Discord or Google stores only that provider's account identifier (and, for Discord, your username as a display-name suggestion). We never receive or store your email address, password, or contact list. If you link Steam in the future, the same applies: we store the SteamID, nothing more.
- Gameplay records: match results and statistics, progression (experience, job levels, unlocks, laurels), cosmetics, guild and team membership, friends, and ranked ratings.
- Things you write: your display name, guild names and notices, and chat messages. Lobby and menu chat is held briefly (rooms keep the last 60 lines and are wiped ~30 minutes after they fall idle) and is never written to long-term storage. Player reports filed through the report button are kept as a moderation record, including the reported message.
- A presence heartbeat while the game is open — used only to show the "players online" counter and your online dot to friends and guildmates. It expires within about a minute of closing the game.
What we don't collect
- No email addresses, phone numbers, or real names.
- No advertising identifiers, no trackers, no analytics SDKs, no ads.
- No payment details, ever. If real-money cosmetics ship, payment is handled entirely by the storefront (e.g. Steam) — card numbers never touch our servers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with anyone. There is no "anyone".
Where it lives
Game servers run on Fly.io in the United States. Traffic between the game and the server is encrypted (HTTPS/WSS). Account data lives on that server's storage and in its backups.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account — and with it your identity links, progression, friends, and everything else listed above — from inside the game (MY ACCOUNT → DELETE ACCOUNT). Deletion is immediate and permanent. Two honest caveats: your name may persist in other players' match-history records of battles you fought (as a name on a scoreboard, detached from your deleted account), and moderation records are retained where needed to keep a ban effective.
Children
Shattered Crowns is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes & contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and meaningful changes get called out in the news feed. Questions, deletion requests you can't perform in-game, or anything else: ask in the Discord and the developer will answer directly.
